PADI Open Water Diver
It takes about 35 hours to complete the course, our flexible approach means we can split this up to accommodate the student's lifestyle. There are 5 confined water sessions each preceeded by a knowledge development class then 4 open water dives.
- You can do the entire course over 4 full days with us.
- You can do the theory and confined work at your local scuba school then finish off the 4 open water dives with us.
- You can complete the theory on-line at your leisure then come to us for confined water exercises and Open Water qualifying dives.
The only pre-requisite is to be fit and healthy for diving. Every student must complete a medical form. If all the answers are "no" that is good. If there are any "yes" answers then you need to see a doctor and assuming it is OK have the doctor sign the form to say so and bring it with you. Saves any disappointments later.
You need to be able to swim 200 metres (without stopping) and perform a survival float, keeping yourself above water for 10 minutes. These waterskills are mandatory, we cannot certify you unless you complete them.
What happens next?
When you successfully complete the course, PADI will send you a certification card which you can use all over the world to go scuba diving. It's your ticket to be able to hire compressed air and continue training.
